What is Plagiarism???

*** Remember, if 10 teachers do not know the information you are writing in your school work, you MUST give credit to the person that gave you the information!!

Teachers are not looking to see how much you know, but it is how you can collect and process information to present in your school work, so give credit where credit is due.

The following link is from Scholastic and this explains plagiarism in more detail.

Remember these tips when doing your research projects:

.org = organization - probably a good webpage
.gov = governement - probably a good webpage
.edu = education - probably a good webpage

.ca = Canada - search deeper to find out if the page is ok
.com = company - search deeper to find out if the page is ok

Tips

Look for:

- Advertising on the page, too much is probably not good
- Can you contact the webpage creators - no = bad webpage, yes = could be an ok webpage
- Date - when was the webpage last updated???

Good search engines.....
